The Things I See
Some of the things I see are missed by people in a hurry. People too rushed to take a leisurely walk in a state park, or people so focused they fail to look down at the ground, or up at the sky. They concentrate on the destination instead of the trip, and miss many of the marvels around them.
In another vein, many commonplace sights become beautiful and artistic under the right kind of lighting, a creative crop, or a different perspective and approach.
I hope you enjoy the photographs.

0051 HERON BALLET-2015
A three second sequence of a male Great Blue Heron returning to nest. The herons return to their nests every year, replacing sticks and adding to the nest as repairs are needed. They return to the same nest and are not pleased if an interloper is occupying it, driving the offending birds from their territory. The shadow pictures are meant to highlight the precision in which landings are performed--every feather has a specific function--no wonder that enlightened men watching them eventually learned the principles of flight.
